Best NBA Bets for Tuesday
7:30 PM Nets at 76ers
Last we saw of the Nets they had gotten Kyrie Irving back on the team and beat the Grizzlies 127 to 115 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Though it was Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons that really powered the team to that win, as well as Yuta Watanabe hitting 4 of 6 threes in that game. The Nets seem to be finding themselves a little and could be heading towards being a force in the east. The Sixers are in a tough spot right now, cluster injuries have hit the team and left them thin at all positions. Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey are all out with injuries so they’re going to struggle to match the talent the Nets are bringing to town.
Pick: Nets -7.5 (-110)
I don’t like it and it doesn’t feel good to support the Nets since I hate all their players, but this is the right side in this game. The Sixers don’t have the horses to compete with a Nets team that seems to be finding it’s way back into relevance. Ben Simmons has played at a really high level the last few games and with Kyrie being back for another game should be a little more acclimated to playing again. Kevin Durant should have a high scoring game without Embiid out there to guard the paint/perimeter.
8:00 PM Kings at Grizzlies
The Kings have come alive the last 2 weeks of the season and have put the league on notice; this team is legit. The Kings are 8-2 in the last 10 and are riding a 6 game winning streak, boasting one of the best offenses in the NBA. I can’t believe I’m about to say it, but this is a playoff team and you should be scared to face them right now. De’Aaron Fox is playing like a top 10 player right now and Sabonis is one of the most versatile offensive bigs in the league, add in some great role players and you’re cooking with gas. The Grizzlies on the other hand are dealing with some injuries and have been up and down for the last week. They come into this game just 6-4 in their last 10 and 3-4 in their last 7, these struggles have been highlighted by the absence of Desmond Bane who is out for the next month or so and Ja Morant who is day to day with an ankle injury.
Pick: Kings +1.5 (-110)
The wrong team is favored here, the Grizzlies are decimated by injuries and the Kings come in to town hot, healthy, and fully rested. Unless Ja Morant plays I don’t see how the Grizzlies have a chance in this game. The Kings are for real and they will put points on the board, the Grizzlies don’t have the firepower to keep up. Kings should win but we’ll grab the +1.5 points just in case.
