Utah Utes vs USC Trojans
The PAC 12 Championship is a revenge game for the Trojans! Their only blemish on the season came against this Utah team back in Week 7. The Trojans lost 43-42 after a Cameron Rising run with less than a minute to go. They then decided to go for the win and attempted a two points conversion! The Trojans had to watch Rising do the exact same thing and ran the ball in!
I have a difficult time seeing history repeat itself in this one, especially in a conference starved for a birth in the College Football Playoff (not trying to label myself a conspiracy theorist, but…). The fact this line jumped to 3 this morning, and was immediately hammered back down to 2.5, definitely gives me some pause, especially when 78% of the public is on USC laying the points. All of Utah’s three losses this season have come on the road, and while this game will be played at a neutral site in Las Vegas, I think that has to be factored in at least somewhat.
I’m expecting this to be another close game, and may even be a little biased considering if USC were to lose, e$ECpn is going to be screaming from the hilltops that their beloved conference deserves a second birth in the College Football Playoff, but I’m going to put my faith in Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams doing enough to overcome what I’m sure will be a porous effort from their defense.
Here’s how I am betting the PAC 12 Championship:
USC ML (-145) 1.5 unit
Dalton Kincaid over .5 receiving touchdowns (-115) One unit
Cameron Rising over 29.5 rushing yards (-115) One unit
Caleb Williams anytime touchdown scorer (-160) Half unit
