Monday Night Football Week 13: Saints at Buccaneers

Boy oh boy! This is an ugly matchup on basically every front! Neither of these teams are any good, but they’re both still in the playoff hunt because their division is such garbage. The Saints (4-8) have no business sniffing the playoffs right now, but they’re only a game and a half back of the Buccaneers, making this game basically their season! The Buccaneers have the worst record for a team that leads their division right now and I’m not sure what they are. They could miss the playoffs altogether and I would not be shocked. Personally, I don’t think they’re the best team in their division, but they just happen to be the team leading it right now. Tom Brady has lost his family/life outside of football to comer back to a team that isn’t going to the Super Bowl this year. Don’t get me started on the terrible coaching in this matchup either! Todd Bowles is not an NFL head coach and I don’t think Dennis Allen is either. I’m probably not even going to watch this game, but I will bet it because I think there’s some decent value on one it.

This is the season for the Saints and Dennis Allen. They went all-in on this season for no obvious reason and it’s going to set them back years because of it. That being said, I kind of think the Saints wind up winning this game outright. We’ll take the 3 points to be safe though. The Saints have no reason to tank this season since they don’t own their own first round pick next year. The Buccaneers are not a good team, they just have good players! It’s the same story with the Saints, but I do think the Saints are just a little better of a team. The coaching is a virtual wash and I think the talent outside of QB is a virtual wash too. So I’ll take the team that’s more desperate to win! The Saints always play Brady and the Bucs close and I don’t think that will stop now. I expect a super low scoring grind out kind of game with the Saints somehow someway pulling out the win when all is said and done to keep their season alive. The Buccaneers are 3-7-1 against the spread this season and I haven’t seen anything to make me think that will change in this game. This is going to be an ugly rock fight type of game that I have no plans to watch but I can’t not make a pick here.

Pick: Saints +3 (-105)
