Our NBA Expert gives his best bets for Thursday 12/8

It’s Thursday and we have a solid 3 game slate to work with featuring the Clippers at the Heat, the Rockets at the Spurs, and the Nuggets at the Trailblazers. Below i’ll give you my best bets and analysis on what I think is going to happen in each of the games in tonight’s slate. Let’s get into it.

The Clippers will play the 2nd half of a back-to-back tonight after losing in overtime last night. In addition, they are also in the middle of a 4 game road trip. Due to both of these reason, I think they’ll be tired and end up resting a couple key guys. The Heat on the other hand, have injuries galore and an aging roster. The Heats injury report includes Jimmy Butler, Victor Oldadio, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Max Struss and Dwayne Dedmon. Alll of whom are candidates to sit out tonight. The Heat are 26th in the league with an offensive rating of 109.1. They are currently 33% from 3 and 44% from the field. I don’t think a lot of points will be scored in this affair, so I will be taking the under.

Best Bets: Under 214 (-110)

Best Bets: Rockets Moneyline -120

I’m going to keep this pretty simple, the Spurs might be the worst team in the league! I’m not sure it’s even close. They have the privilege of holding the league’s worst losing streak right now at 11 straight games. I can’t believe Coach Pop came back again this year. If I was him, I would’ve retired after the Dejounte Murray trade. Contrarily, the Rockets are actually 5-5 in their last 10 games, so there’s some hope for optimism. I don’t think the Rockets are some juggernaut, they do have a lot of young exciting players Lets pick against the Spurs until they win a game.

The Blazers started off hot, but they have cooled offand are now the team they should be. A lot of that has been due to Damien Lillard missing a large chunk of time, but I believe he is back from injury now and playing, but I still don’t love this Blazers team in the aggregate. To me this matchup comes down to what the Blazers are missing: a Nikola Jokic stopper. There are only a few player in the NBA capable of even slowing down the 2 time MVP but I don’t think he exists on the Blazers roster. I expect Jokic to dominate this matchup and indeed lead the Nuggets to the W.

Best Bets: Nuggets +1.5 (-110)
