Best NBA Bets for Wednesday April 5th

The NBA season is less than 10 games from ending and we really still don’t know much about who is going to make the play in/playoffs. In the west the 4 seed and the 12 seed are separated by 3.5 games, and honestly I’m not sure who is going to make it. The east is much more settled at the bottom and middle but there is some fighting in the top 3 with the Bucks, Celtics, and Sixers for the 1 2 3 seeds. There are only 4 games on tonight because of the NCAA tournament being on but there are some solid matchups and we’re going to try and make the most of the limited board. Lets get into it.

Knicks at Magic

Pick: Knicks moneyline -165

The Knicks were the hottest team in the league 2 short weeks ago but now have regressed back to the team they’ve been the entire time which is a pretty good team in the east. The Magic on the other hand have been kind of struggling, more so as of late. They’re just 4-6 in their last 10 and 4.5 games out of the play in, which they probably don’t even want to make. The Knicks are on the 2nd game of a back to back and they’re not really in danger of falling out of the 5 seed but I just don’t think they’re going to lose this game. The Magic might cover at home where they’re respectable ATS but I think the Knicks win outright so GO NY GO NY GO.

Cavs at Nets

Pick: Nets +4 (-110)

These two teams just played on Tuesday with the Cavs winning 115-109. I think this is a trap spot for the Cavs after spending 2 nights in NY. The Nets should be able to get some payback on the Cavs who almost certainly got into some NY hijinks that may or may not have included some alcoholic beverages. Mikal Bridges has been playing great since being traded to the Nets and I think they win outright tonight but I’ll take the 4 point spread in what should be another close game in Brooklyn.

Thunder at Clippers

Pick: Thunder +4.5 (-110)

The Clippers just got some awful news with Paul Georges injury probably going to keep him out for the rest of the regular season. This couldn’t be coming at a worse time with the Clippers right on the Suns heels for the 4 seed and the playoffs right around the corner. The Thunder are playing great basketball right now, led by SGA and Jalen Williams they are 8-2 in their last 10 and are firmly in the mix for the play in with a chance to maybe even make top 6 in the west with how congested the standings are. These two teams just played on Tuesday with the Thunder winning 101-100 and while there could be an element of LA hangover in this game I think the Paul George injury will be too much to overcome right now. My only real worry is that SGA could sit out for this game with the Thunder playing the Lakers tomorrow night but as of right now he’s playing so I’ll take the risk with the Thunder on the spread.
