New York Mets @ Detroit Tigers

Game Preview & Pick:

Something feels off about this line, and I can’t figure out why the Mets moneyline is so cheap. I guess it must have to do with the fact the Mets played a double header against the Braves at Citi Field yesterday, because I fly to Detroit multiple times a month for work, and it’s a super quick, easy flight. The Tigers hit lefties well, and Mets starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi looked a little shakier in his second start in comparison to his brilliant performance against the Giants after getting the call up a couple weeks ago, but I’m going to take the cheese here – New York is 10-7 on the road, and Detroit’s starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen has gotten rocked in two out of his three starts this season.

Baltimore Orioles @ Kansas City Royals

Game Preview & Pick:

I can’t get enough of the Orioles so far this season, and will continue to ride the coattails of them and the Pirates for as long as possible. Both of these teams were off yesterday, but only one of them is 1-12 at home. Baltimore has the pitching advantage with Tyler Wells, and hit lefties well, which doesn’t bode well for Royals projected starter Ryan Yarbrough. This line has jumped up since yesterday, and I considered grabbing the run line, but I think it’s still worth playing the moneyline at this number.

Minnesota Twins @ Chicago White Sox

Game Preview & Pick:

Twins starter, Joe Ryan, has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, and I expect more of the same tonight against a porous Chicago lineup. The White Sox will have Mitch Kopech on the hill, which hasn’t been pretty over his other 5 starts, as he’s sporting an ERA over 7… Kopech drew a lot of comparisons to former White Sox pitcher Chris Sale during his time in the minors, averaging 11.7 strikeouts per 9 innings, but he’s never been able to put it together consistently in the majors, despite some flashes of the upside many of us expected.
