Game Preview & Pick:
According to FAA records, the Heat have a flight scheduled to Denver, rather than Miami, after tonight’s game 7. Man, if that’s not Pat Riley going full warlock, I don’t know what is. The Celtics have been the far superior team all along, but it took until they had their backs up against the wall to start playing like it – so basically business as usual in Boston. They’re no longer biting on Jimmy Buckets pump fakes, but you can usually expect less foul calls in a game 7 in general, so Miami is really going to need a spark from more than one of the many capable and proven undrafted players they find at Marshalls. I expect both teams to come out tight, and for this to be a defensively driven game. I don’t actually have a strong gut feeling on who wins, but if Marcus Smart continues to look for shots first, rather than facilitating, I think it will be the Celtics who come out on top – Smart has been raising the level of his game to match the moment for years. I don’t see this Heat team having any quit in them though, so I can’t pass up the chance to get 7 points.
Miami +7.5 (-115) 1.5 units
Marcus Smart over 13.5 points (-125) 1 unit
Jayson Tatum under 47.5 points + rebounds + assists (-120) 1 unit
